Won’t be leaving NYC for a long, long time

I was supposed to be back in NYC at around 9:45pm last night..

BUT what happened was..

Peggy & I were on our way to the Rochester Amtrak station via Maria’s friend. We ended up leaving Geneseo a bit later than planned, and her friend wasn’t familiar with directions. He ended up taking the wrong exit when we were almost there. Meanwhile, Peggy was praying for a slow old man to be trying to get on the train to delay time. That was the last train for the day, so if we missed it, we’ll be stuck there.

Once we got to the station, we missed the entrance, and he drove in via the exit instead LOL. We got there like 2 minutes after the train was scheduled to leave. Peggy & I ran in like ninjas, but there was no train there. So we asked, and it turns out the train was delayed and was still on its way. We didn’t even have to rush!

The train got here, we boarded it, and we slowly headed towards NY Penn Station. Out of nowhere, we stopped moving because of an engine problem. We were just stuck there for like a good 2 hours. The train crew tried fixing the engine, but that didn’t work out.

The plan was to have the train tolled back to Rochester’s station, then buses will pick up the passengers and drive them back instead.

Terrible terrible idea, and terrible terrible service.

By the time we got back to Rochester’s station, it was like 6 something already. We had to wait there for another 2 hours for the buses to come. By the time we were on a moving bus, it was already 8pm.

The bus headed towards Albany, where we were to board a train to go to Penn Station. The drive from Rochester to Albany is 4 hours. By the time we arrived at Albany, it was 11:30pm, like holy shit.

Peggy & I were on the 1st bus that got to Albany. We ended up waiting there for another 2 hrs for the other 2 buses to get there. God knows where the 3rd fucking bus was, ‘cause the train didn’t leave Albany until 1:20am.

SO FINALLY, we were moving towards NYC. The train ride from Albany to NYC was another 2.5 hrs. We got back to Penn Station at 4am. Omg. BUT THEN, we waited there for another 30 mins for Daved, ‘cause he didn’t know how to count 2.5 hrs from 1:20, and left his house late </3.

But nonetheless, I love him for coming to get me at 4 in the morning. :)

… and that’s our terrible train journey back. I can’t even begin to describe how annoyed, aggravated, cranky, grumpy, and angry we were.
